According to the Center for Informatics and Statistics (CIS), the estimated export volume of rubber in August 2019 reached 181 thousand tons with a value of US $ 246 million, bringing the volume and export value of rubber in the first 8 months of 2019 at 963 thousand tons and 1.32 million USD, up 9.7% in volume and up 7.8% in value over the same period in 2018. Average rubber export price in the first 7 months of 2019 reached 1,376 USD / ton, down 3.66% compared to the same period in 2018. China, India, and South Korea have been the three largest rubber consuming markets of Vietnam in the first 7 months of 2018, accounting for the market share of 63%, 8.9% and 3.4% respectively.
Rubber import in August 2019
Estimated volume of rubber import in August 2019 reached 64 thousand tons, valued at US $ 108 million, bringing the total volume and value of imported rubber in the first 8 months to 437 thousand tons with a value of US $ 756 million, up 13.2% in volume and 6.8% in value over the same period in 2018. The four main rubber import markets in the first 7 months of 2019 have been South Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Laos, accounting for 52.4% market share. In the first 7 months of 2019, the highest increase in rubber import value was France (2.3 times). On the contrary, Thailand was the market where rubber import value plummeted (-25.2%).
